Got my theme song stuck in my head today after I took myself on a good walk for a couple of hours.
So here's what happened... Went for a walk by the creek with The Girl and saw a Dog with Sharp Ears and I wanted to go say hello so I jumped in the creek and ran to meet him. I have to say these Dogs can run! Apparently he did not want to meet me as much as I wanted to meet him so after a while I gave up chasing him and went exploring. I was gone for a while then I crossed the super busy road and these nice people saw me and looked at my collar and hung on to me. A little while later The Girl showed up and she was mad mad mad. Since she was so mad, I didn't feel like it was a good time to do this but I couldn't help myself....after she put me in the car I got a funny feeling and all this stuff just started coming out of my mouth ! It was wild ! Kept coming and coming and then the car had a really bad smell and The Girl had more angry words.
Then we got home and I took a nap. Great Day !

I'm So Confused
Things have gotten back to normal after my strange year at The House With The Cats. I live with The Boy and The Girl again. They take me for walks and hikes and bike rides, they pet me a lot, and they even let me cuddle with them on the bed in the evenings. The Boy takes me down to the creek so I can chase the stick and go for a swim. The other day I swallowed a bunch of water while I was swimming in the creek and my breakfast magically appeared and I got eat it all over again!
There have been a lot of friendly petters who come and visit. The Bouncy One and The Serious One come often (I heard The Girl saying The Bouncy One comes a little too often...). I'm always very excited to see them and they spend a lot of time playing with me outside. And there have been a few strange new petters like these guys.
The only thing about living here with The Boy and The Girl that I don't like is when they start drinking the red stuff or the brown stuff. That's when they think they're so funny and they start talking to me as if I can understand them. Usually when they do that, I just tilt my head to the side, which is my way of telling them that I don't understand what their saying, but that I'm trying really hard to get it. It looks something like this:
I guess sometimes The Girl has just as much difficultly understanding The Boy as I do.

Sometimes, I think The Girl has trouble understanding The Boy because he's talking to her and she makes the same face that I do. She looks something like this:

Into The Wild
I've been back at The House With The Creek with The Boy and The Girl for a while and let me tell you, it's been GREAT! For some reason The Boy and The Girl are home with me all the time! They never go off to the place where The Bouncy One and The Serious One go when they leave me all alone all day. So I get all kinds of attention. Sometimes, when The Girl is sitting down making clicking noises with her hands in front of a screen, I go over and put my head on her lap and she starts playing ball with me right in the house! I hope The Bouncy One and The Serious One never find out -they probably wouldn't like that one bit.
But then a few days ago, I got really worried. The Boy and The Girl started loading up for what looked like a long car ride. I don't like long car rides because I get really queasy and also because usually I end up at a new house with new owners, like when I ended up at The House With the Cats. I don't want anything to change -I have The Boy, The Girl, and The Creek and no cats!
But instead we ended up at The House With The Big Woods. I like this place because I get to spend all day outside! They never make me come back inside (although sometimes it would be nice to sleep inside.) Anyway, at The House With The Big Woods lives The One Who Won't Touch Me, But Takes Me For Great Walks In The Woods.
Well, The Great Walker smells a lot like The Boy, just like The Serious One and The Bouncy One smell like The Girl, which makes me think that The Boy and The Girl are their puppies. Anyway, The Great Walker doesn't like to pet me too much and I get the sense he's the one who won't let me come inside, but he makes up for it by taking me on great walks in the woods where I get to do anything I want! I can explore and run around and sniff things, I can pee on whatever I want to and chase animals and I don't even have to walk with anyone or stay on a leash!
So after a few days of this, I decided that I could take myself for a walk on my own in the woods. Even though I could hear The Great Walker calling for me, I thought I'd try to make it on my own and see if I could join a dog pack in the wild. But after a while, The Boy and The Girl came out into the woods and were calling for me so I came back because they're my pack right now and I don't want to leave them. Also, I remembered I hadn't been fed breakfast yet.
When we got back in the car for one more long car ride, we ended up back at The House With The Creek! I was so happy to be living at The House With The Creek with The Boy and The Girl that when I heard a loud noise, I just tipped my head back and howled. I was so excited, I didn't even stop to take the ball out of my mouth before howling!

Where Am I?
Things have gotten pretty strange since The Boy and The Girl returned. For a few days, The Boy and The Girl and I hung out at The House With the Cats and they spent a lot of time with me, but didn't take me on many walks. They didn't appear to be doing anything important - just eating and staring into the box that makes noises.
Then the weirdest thing happened: we got into the car for a really long time - which I'm used to now but still makes me woozy - and ended up at The House with the Stream. WTF? I am always here with The Bouncy One and The Serious One and their friends. I didn't bother checking to see if they were around - I went straight into my favorite room and rolled around on the floor. It feels sooooo good.
The next few days were so boring. I remember The Boy and The Girl always used to do fun stuff with me. I would run along side them while they rode on these crazy metal things with wheels or slid on long sticks on the white stuff (humans are so weird). At least they are normally very good ball tossers but there was no ball tossing at all the past few days. All they do is unpack boxes and move things from one shelf to another. I tried to hint several times what I was after by bringing over a ball and dropping it at their feet but each time all they did was toss it back into my mouth.
I miss The Bouncy One and The Serious One a lot. I miss My BFF the Black Cat and how he would always bat my face when I sniffed him. Oh, the times we had. I'm happy The Boy and Girl are home but I miss the friends I made while they were away. Sometimes I just stare out the window and remember The House with the Cats.
Luckily, things are improving around here. The Boy took me on a super fun run today (where he was on the sticks on the white stuff) and I didn't misbehave at all. I wanted to be super good so he'll take me again sometime. This morning The Girl invited me up onto the bed and we cuddled for a long time. The Serious One would have never allowed that.
I hope The Bouncy One and The Serious One come to visit soon. And I hope they remember to bring up some nice artisan beer for The Boy and some organic coffee for The Girl. They would love that.

If You Will It, It Is No Dream
I am the Happiest Dog in the World.
The Boy and The Girl came back to me.
The Bouncy One and The Serious One got in the car and drove away and when they came back the house doors opened and The Boy and The Girl were there and they were hugging hugging hugging me and at first I was wondering where their doggie and squirrel bodies were, but then I remembered they were really people and I wasn't dreaming and I was so happy.
Where the heck have they been??

Dream a Little Dream of Me
Now that My BFF the Black Cat and the Hissy Stripey Cat spend most of the day on my side of the House, it has gotten a little boring. It use to be more fun to spy on them, but now it's just normal days. So, what I do now is sleep a lot. And I had the most wonderful dream today when I was sleeping. I dreamed about The Boy and The Girl. I haven't seen them for a really really long time and they looked a little funny in my dream. The Boy was a little white dog but had the Boy's head. The Girl was a squirrel but had the Girl's head. This is what they looked like in my dream:
But even though they looked funny, we still had a lot of fun in my dream and it was super nice to spend some time with them in my head. The Boy Dog could not throw a ball, but he liked to run around with me. The Squirrel Girl was always giving me treats.
Now, I love love love The Bouncy One and The Serious One and they love love love me back. I have them so very well trained after all this time. If The Bouncy One ever sits down for a minute, all I have to do is walk over and put my head on her lap and cock my head and make the "oh please" eyes. Then she usually gives a big sigh and plays with me. The Serious One is more reliable...he just takes me out every night without my asking or using my special eyes.
But I miss The Boy and the The Girl soooo much. Maybe someday they will come back and pet me. That is my real dream.

Where Everybody Knows My Name
One of the best things about the really really long car rides is when we stop at this special place where they give me treats and I don't even have to sit or stay or come or stop or jump or lie or heal or anything!
