I’m Sylvester.
I am 3 years old (approximately)
I am ruggedly handsome, or so I’m told.
Although it has not been confirmed by DNA testing**, I appear to be a dog of uncertain lineage which may or may not have included Rottweiler and German Shepherd. There has been talk of “hound” as well.
Like most dogs, I really can’t remember my very early years, but it appears that someone loved me enough to put a chip in me, but didn’t love me enough to actually indicate on that chip who they are or any kind of address which resulted in me ending up in the Jackson Hole Animal Shelter when I was about 2 years old.
I do remember my shelter days though. Those were pretty happy times. I got regular feeding and people would take me to their houses for a couple of days or sometimes a week. They would bring me back to the shelter though and give me a lot of hugs and would be shaking their heads when they talked to the shelter people. I wasn’t really clear as to what was going on but I do remember the words “he wanders away a lot”.
Then one day the Girl and the Boy showed up at the shelter and took me to their home. They were so nice to me. The Boy loved taking me for runs in the woods and throwing a ball for me to catch. The Girl would take me for walks and sing to me all the time. After a few days, I presumed I would go back to the shelter, but they never took me back. It was confusing at first, but then I realized that this new place was my new home. I was a very grateful dog. I love the Boy and Girl.
Fast forward about 8 months and all of a sudden I’m in the car for five days with the Boy and Girl. It appears they have been slipping me something during this particular journey cuz I was tired all the time and had some crazy dreams. Then there was a lot more traveling about for many days to many different houses and then I landed back in the house with the CATS. It seemed the right time to start this blog.
